Tomorrow: Dutch Nu-Jazz Night
Looking out for some more Dutch Nu-Jazz?? This weekend, on July 2nd, both State Of Monc and Monsieur Dubois will host the Dutch Nu-Jazz Night at Rotterdams most acclaimed jazz venue Lantaren/Venster. You will get a fresh update on the two bands: Monsieur Dubois will present the brand new album SLOW BOMBASTIK while State Of Monc demonstrates its current skills operating as a flexible 5-piece unit. To make it even more spectacular they’ll bring their veejay as well because nothing beats this groovy combination of visuals and ultra danceable jazzy beats. Monsieur Dubois at JAZZAHEAD! 2011
Monsieur Dubois will perform at the next JAZZAHEAD!, the annual music meeting and largest jazzbusiness event in Europe. From a total of 160 applicants, an international jury selected Monsieur Dubois and 29 other candidates for a showcase during the “European Jazz Meeting” program. JAZZAHEAD! takes place from April 28 untill May 1 at the Messe Bremen (Germany).
Radio 6 supports Monsieur Dubois
Since this week Radio 6, without a doubt one of Hollands nicest radiostations, is supporting Monsieur Dubois by promoting the pre-sale of their upcoming record. In order to produce it Monsieur Dubois is calling for support from everyone digging Dubois. By pre-ordering the album that will release in 2011, you’ll help Monsieur Dubois financing the whole project, thus becoming a vital part of it. Monsieur Dubois celebrates 5 years Stellwerk
It’s been 5 years already since Jazzclub im Stellwerk, one of Hamburgs finest live jazz joints, first opened its door. Monsieur Dubois has been there from the start and came back many times over the years. And there’s more than enough to celebrate: Surviving as a jazzclub is never easy. To even grow and become a steady meeting place over the years deserves all respect and applause. To celebrate Stellwerks anniversary properly, Monsieur Dubois will be around all weekend and treat Hamburg on some “Great Shit” as they put it. Dutch Nu-Jazz @ Jazzkomm Berlin
Apart from the well known Popkomm, for the first time there was a JAZZKOMM this year, a new meeting platform taking place simultaneously with Popkomm and the Berlin Jazz Meeting (8-10.09). The Dutch Nu-Jazz Movement was present at this conference and did a double showcase at the notorious Frannz Club featuring The Jazzinvaders and State of Monc. Double Bill: Monsieur Dubois + The Jazzinvaders
On Thursday May 6 The Jazzinvaders and Monsieur Dubois will join the stage and treat Rotterdam with some latest Dutch Nu-Jazz vibes taken from the “What’s Nu?” release. Extra ingredient: DJ Pat, best known for his notorious nights at Bar P. The evening will be hosted by Jazzpodium Rotterdam, and take place in WATT. An excellent chance to catch up for those who couldn’t make it in Amsterdam in March!
